Farm Exploration Day
You're Invited
You are invited to spend the day exploring our farms! Take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity to explore 4 of the Innisfail Growers farms and learn how we grow our wonderful fresh produce! There will be opportunities to purchase fresh produce (and lots more!) at each of the farms, don’t forget to bring a cooler! Follow the map on the reverse, plan on a full day of fun if you want to fully enjoy all 4 farms.
Upper Green Farms
Hanno and Megan are the second generation and have been growing potatoes since 1993. Come and share our enthusiasm for healthy, nutritious potatoes. We grow red, yellow, purple, russet and fingerling potatoes for the farmers markets. Visit our fields, see where we wash and bag our potatoes and get a chance to pick your own bag of field fresh potatoes.
Directions: 35516 Range Rd 13. Located west of Innisfail turn off the QE2 south Innisfail overpass (exit # 365) once off the overpass turn left (south) go 1 km. and then right (west) onto Cottonwood Road, go about 7 km west to Range Road 13, turn right or north and go about 5 km, our farm is on the left hand side, watch for the sign.
Edgar Farms
Doug, Elna, Keri and Randy boast of having the largest asparagus field in Alberta since 1986. Come out see the field and learn why we can only harvest asparagus May and June. Take a wagon ride (weather permitting) to our fields. We grow asparagus, shelling peas, rhubarb, sugar snap and snow peas, pea tendrils, broad beans, green and yellow beans as well as home raised hormone & antibiotic free grass fed Angus beef, homemade pies, homemade preserves and much more. The Jungle Farm
Welcome to Staples centennial farm. Blaine, Leona and their three sons grow strawberries, raspberries, lettuce, spinach, pickling and slicing cucumbers, zucchini, winter squash, pumpkins, onions, kale, celery, leeks, potted flowers and artichokes. Come enjoy a ride on our school field trip wagon to our u-pick and farmer’s market gardens. We look forward to sharing our gardening experience with you. Directions: 28120 Twp Rd 362. Located 6 km north of Innisfail on highway #2A, turn right at the blue The Jungle Farm sign (Township road 362), drive 1 km to our farm on the left hand side. Watch for signs at the end of our lane. Park at the red barn.
Beck Farms
Beck Farms is proudly owned and operated by Rod & Shelley Bradshaw & sons, Kurt and Brent. We are proud to say we grow what our customers call “the best tasting carrots in the world”. We also grow cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, kohlrabi, beets, brussels sprouts, peppers, baby dill, melons, tomatillos, corn and homemade preserves. Come and see where we wash and bag our carrots and our fields of vegetables.
Directions: 35119 Range Rd 13. from the north, turn off the QE2 south Innisfail overpass (exit # 365) once off the overpass turn left (south) go 1 km to the stop sign and then right (west) onto Cottonwood Road, go about 7 km west to Range Road 13, turn left or south and go 1 km. Our farm is on the left. From the south take exit 357 at Bowden, go west to Rng Rd 13, turn right and go north approximately 5km, our farm is on your right. Watch for signs.
